PIMA Webinar and Bulletin planned on the Role of Higher Eucation supporting Adult Learning and Education

At the last PIMA committee meeting we discussed plans for the years 2024/25, which transpired through the group discussion in the Annual General Meeting. One area to work on with PIMA members and friends will be the role of Higher Education (HE) supporting Adult  Learning and Education (ALE). It seems to be close to the heart and interest of colleagues, and at the same time an important area that needs follow-up after the UNESCO World Conference on Higher Education as well as CONFINTEA VII.

17th PASCAL Conference kicks off in Taipei

We've receieved some early photos from the 17th PASCAL Conference taking place in Taipei. Looking great, the stage featured in the photos includes the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Taipei, current/former ministers of Education, as well as Josef Konvitz, Honorary Professor of Education at the University of Glasgow with them.

An Urban Lens on Presidential Immunity

Yesterday, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a major ruling in the case known as Trump vs. United States.  The case was brought by former President Donald Trump to dismiss all Federal charges against him for allegedly criminal behavior for actions he took while he served as the 45th President of the United States.

It was an immense pleasure for the PASCAL (Africa) to be hosting Professor Kolev from the University of Economics in Bulgaria. His visit was mid-April, at the beginning of Autumn for us in Johannesburg, so we still had the benefits of out afternoon thunderstorms, along with our exciting displays of lightning and cold winds, typical of Johannesburg for this time of year.
