Congratulations are in order to the Talloires Network for the excellent coverage achieved by partnership collaboration and taking over the whole of the current (21 December 2014) number of University World News with its World Conference convened in South Africa – brilliant to win the whole Number on Engagement.

Talloires has achieved a great deal in its short time. We may be seeing the beginning of a change in mainstream higher education and wider political narrative. The conference work included some critique of global ranking and tables, which as doing much unintended harm to engagement generally, and especially to the ‘other 99.9%’ of universities outside the charmed top few hundred.
