New Director for Scottish Cities Alliance - Very not Rural News!

SCDI has just announced the appointment of Geoff Duke as the Director of the Scottish Cities Alliance.

The Scottish Cities Alliance was formed as part of the agenda for cities launched by the Deputy First Minister and Six Cities in December 2011. The role of the Scottish Cities Alliance, as outlined in Scotland’s Cities: Delivering for Scotland, http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Publications/2012/01/05104741/0 is to take forward a programme of collaborative action to deliver the aspirations of the cities and the Scottish Government and achieve economic growth and create jobs through shared action on four key areas (This all sounds a bit familiar...) : connected cities, sustainable cities, knowledge cities and vibrant & cultural cities.

Scotland’s seven cities are: Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Perth and Stirling.

More information on the Scottish Cities Alliance is available at www.scottishcities.org Worth noting that the description of Stirling is in the context of it's stunning landscape setting of the gateway to the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park!
But then I would notice that wouldn't I!
