The Queensland Brain Institute, located at the University of Queensland, has devoted an issue of their publication “The Brain” to the area of Learning and Memory. Learning is one of the interests of the Brain Institute which it carries forward in partnership with the Science of Learning Research Centre  (SLRC) which is a national interdisciplinary research centre.

The Learning and Memory issue ranges over research findings on memory to tips for improving learning. A recent product of interest from the SLRC is a Critical Thinking Matrix which links cognitive skills with values of inquiry. SLRC work on critical thinking was recently presented at a public meeting at the Brain Institute which I attended. The Learning and Memory report can be accessed at this link.
