Our hearts go out to all victims of terror
On behalf of PASCAL we post below a response made by our colleague Chris Duke on the campaigning website 38 Degrees with which we are sure that PASCAL subscribers will wish to echo. We could add many more examples of terrorist acts even in the last week, such as that of the 224 Russians most likely murdered over the Sinai desert, and as Chris says our hearts are with all victims of such atrocities.
My heart goes out to ALL victims of terror all over the world including those in Paris. Today we pause to think about Paris. We also think of those in Lebanon, where 43 people were killed in a terrorist attack yesterday. And Syria where more than 100 people are killed in terrorist attacks every day. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Martin Luther King

Paris atrocities
Thanks Mike.
It is important that PASCAL is engaged with the vital issues of the real world and makes its own contribution to understanding and helping in solving them. So I do encourage colleagues to do what they can - I think 38 Degrees is one of the best for this purpose. Please ensure that we take an encompassing stance and seek to understand the totality of the crisis and the suffering, not take the old position that somehow the deaths of westerners matter more than those of other places and peoples.
