A Rural Parliament for Scotland
The Scottish Government hosted a seminar to explore ideas for a Rural Parliament. Swedish, Dutch, Slovenian and Estonian representatives shared their experiences with the Scottish Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Richard Lockhead and more than 100 invited delegates. A briefing paper was prepared for the event which took place 29th May. As you will see word 'Parliament' is a bit misleading as it is an annual or biannual 'Gathering' where key issues and policies can be brought forward, a rural voice heard and ministers present to hear and act.
