This program has been implemented by the PASCAL International Observatory to examine key issues in building sustainable learning cities for the future. The next workshop will be held in Glasgow on 3 March – full details are found here.

Obituary: Professor Sir David Watson – 1949-2015

It is with great sadness that we note the passing of a remarkable scholar, a generous higher education leader and a powerful voice in the global community university engagement movement.  David passed away on February 8, 2015 at his home in Lewes, England after a tragically short battle with pancreatic cancer.

The City of Melton, Victoria, Australia Joins UNESCO's Global Network of Learning Cities

Peter Blunden, Lifelong Learning Coordinator,  Melton City Council reports that the City of Melton has joined UNESCO's Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC).
