Lifelong learning and further education are vital to the re-shaping of English education. Compass, the centre left campaign group, has produced a set of proposals that will be launched at the House of Commons on 16 March.

It is with great sadness that we note the passing of a remarkable scholar, a generous higher education leader and a powerful voice in the global community university engagement movement.  David passed away on February 8, 2015 at his home in Lewes, England after a tragically short battle with pancreatic cancer.
