More Information

There is growing recognition that leadership is critical to the wellbeing of regional communities.  But leadership of places is complex: to work effectively, place leaders need to negotiate priorities, pool resources and work collaboratively, across multiple actors and agencies.

In the context of the many challenges facing regions, place leaders must go beyond formal management of places to mobilise collective action for change.
Professor Sotarauta will lead this conversation on effective place leadership - the qualities and skills of place leaders, how they work, how to support their development, and what place leaders can bring to regional development and transformation.
