Big Tent IV - Global communiquè 'Great Transformation'

One more week before we will hopefully meet at the GUNI conference in Barcelona. The conference will be the place to read out the 4th BIG TENT Global communiqué on pathways for social, scientific and technological innovations to contribute to the great transformation.

Your contribution to the communiqué is very welcome:

“By 2025 Scotland will be regarded as a world-leading learning nation” An international perspective - 30 March 2012

On 19 March, Scotland's Futures Forum and the Goodison Group in Scotland organised on behalf of the Scottish Parliament an international workshop exploring the proposition that Scotland will be regarded as a world-leading learning nation by 2025. It included contributions from PASCAL associates Ilpo Laitinen and Anders Olsson by video-conference, as well as John Tibbitt and Mike Osborne at the host's venue, the Parliament building in Edinburgh.

R&D spending and innovation

The OECD has recently published the 2010/11 edition of its bi-annual publiction of indicators of research and development activity in member countries and some selected non-member countries.   The indicators range over spending in higher education and in business R&D,  numbers of researchers, patents secured, and other relevant indicators, some 150 in all. For many of the indicators time series are available back to 1990.
