Wellcome kick-starts global health projects

The Wellcome Trust has invested £5 million to support pilot research projects on the future of human health.

The Sustaining Health call's aim is to support projects investigating how to meet the world’s "present and future ecological and societal needs in a sustainable and economically viable way", an 11 July statement says.

Learning Cities 2020

The Chairman of the PASCAL Governing Board, Professor Josef Konvitz, today released information on a new initiative by PASCAL to extend the pioneering work undertaken under the PASCAL International Exchanges (PIE) to a quest to identify future directions for learning cities up to 2020. This initiative will be known as Learning Cities 2020.
