Invitation to be a Book Reviewer for JACE

With the transfer of publisher of the Journal of Adult and Continuing Education to Manchester University Press we are seeking to further enhance the well established reputation of JACE with a new emphasis on providing well informed reviews of current publications that are relevant to the focus of the journal. The target is rigorous theoretical and practical work in the fields of lifelong learning and adult, community and continuing education.

New GINCO newsletter now published

The GINCO (Grundtvig International Network of Course Organisers) Network have now published their second major newsletter with a specific emphasis on issues of quality in Grundtvig course provision. It provides details of quality tools which GINCO are creating and also details of the GINCO Course Quality Award to be presented at the 3rd GINCO International Conference in Hasselt Belgium in September 2012.

Widening Access to Higher Education: Scottish, UK and European Policy Dimensions - University of Edinburgh seminar

This seminar at the University of Edinburgh disseminated findings drawn from the EU Sixth Framework Project Lifelong Learning Policy and Practice in Europe (LLL2010), which ran from 2005 - 2011. The project involved 12 European countries and Russia and investigated various aspects of lifelong learning policy and practice, including higher education, adult education and workplace learning. The potential of lifelong learning to promote social inclusion as well as economic growth was a major focus of the study.
