Launch of the Journal of Economic Development in Higher Education

The University Economic Development Association has announced the launch of the Journal of Economic Development in Higher Education (JEDHE).  This is an online, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the study of university-led economic development. 

The Journal examines ways in which institutions of higher education make communities attractive places to work, operate businesses and raise families.  Dr. Brian Richard,at the Center for Governmental Studies-Northern Illinois University is the editor of JEDHE.

American Cities of Learning

A network of American Cities of Learning has emerged in the US with initiatives in Chicago, Pittsburgh, Washington, Dallas, and Los Angeles. While Cities of Learning have much in common with Learning Cities they have a focus on youth rather than the whole lifecycle in most Learning Cities.

LCN Inclusion Rolling Workshops

The Rolling Workshop approach which has been successfully applied by the Harnessing Cultural Policy Network will now be applied by the LCN's Inclusion Network with an Inclusion Rolling Workshop which commenced in Townsville on 4 May. The Townsville Workshop will be followed by workshops in Glasgow (early July), Bristol (15 October), and Melbourne (2 December).
